| It is used topically to treat numerous skin infections such as those produced by staph and strep bacteria. It is often found in other combination antibiotic ointments, such as Neosporin, to produce a wide spectrum of antibacterial effects. Bacitracin ointment alone rarely causes adverse reactions. |
